Kahuna Research Group (KRG) is dedicated to the research, documentation, and public education of cultural traditions, historical narratives, environmental phenomena, and reported unexplained experiences. Established in 2011, KRG promotes an interdisciplinary approach that combines field research, historical analysis, community engagement, and educational outreach to better understand and preserve the stories, traditions, and experiences that shape Hawaiʻi's cultural landscape.

Our 509(a)(2) nonprofit organization is committed to conducting its work with integrity, objectivity, and respect for the communities and traditions it studies. By applying critical thinking, careful documentation, and evidence-based inquiry, KRG seeks to examine reported phenomena within their historical, cultural, and environmental contexts. The organization's goal is not to advocate predetermined conclusions, but to encourage thoughtful investigation, informed discussion, and public understanding.

KRG's activities include field research, archival documentation, educational programming, media production, and community outreach. Through these efforts, the organization works to preserve oral histories, folklore, historical accounts, and other cultural resources that might otherwise be lost or overlooked.
