V-Shaped Object Witnessed by Family over Centreville, Virginia

On Feb. 28, 2016 at approximately 9:30pm Sunday night, my wife, adult son, and I were relaxing in our hot tub talking and looking up at the night sky. It was a clear, moonless night. We like to keep an eye out for passing satellites and shooting stars. As we were talking we (I saw it first) looked up and saw a V-shaped object flying due north as it flew directly overhead. It was no more than 1,000 feet above us and completely silent. It had four or five brownish orange round lights on each side of it's V shape with a same colored light at its point. In and out of our field of view in 8 seconds. We could not explain it away. We live close to Dulles International Airport so we see lots of aircraft (often very noisy) on approach or departing the area. We have never seen anything like that before.
